WARM HEARTED
COUNTRY
Warm Hearted Country was formed in 2003 by
Laurie and Alice Dorisio, and debuted at
the famous Albert Hall in Waretown, NJ.
Alice has been performing country music
for about 50 years, mostly in family bands.
Laurie’s love of country and
bluegrass music goes back to her childhood when she began
singing with her Mom at age 6. Laurie
plays guitar and mandolin and does most of the lead vocals
with the band. The mother-daughter team works well
together; this unique combination is immensely popular with
local audiences.
In addition to performing regularly at Albert Hall,
Warm Hearted Country has performed at the
New Jersey Folk Festival, taken the stage in Little Silver
for the Bluegrass and Old Time Music Association; Pine
Barrens Jamboree at Wells Mills Park; the Pinelands Charge
Bluegrass Gospel Festival at Batsto State Park; the Bass
River State Forest Centennial; and showcased for the
Acoustic Musicians Guild at the Ocean County Library and at
the annual Harvest Harmony Festival. In addition, this year
once again we were the featured bluegrass/country band at
Burlington County College’s annual FunFest, and
performed for the second year in a row at the beautiful,
new Stafford Township Arts Center.
Warm hearted Country has also performed at
the Burlington County Farmer’s Market in Moorestown
the past two seasons.
Joe Wills has played banjo & Dobro
with the group since it was founded. Joe was bitten by the
bluegrass bug in the summer of 1990 and fell in love with
the music. In his 14th year doing a weekly bluegrass radio
program for Z88-9, Joe has developed an extensive knowledge
of bluegrass and country music and organized the free
annual bluegrass festivals at Burlington County College.
Other current band members are Alice’s son
Bruce Bunning on harmonica; Cliff
Bloodgood on lead guitar; and John
Cleveland on bass
